Media Center

Welcome to the Eastside Media Center!  I am so happy to have the privilege to work with your child this year.  In our effort to build a life-long love of reading your child will be participating in a variety of literature based activities during the year in the classroom and in the library.

Even our youngest students will have the opportunity to check out books and bring them home to share with you. This is an excellent opportunity to spend quality time with your child and instill a love of reading.

Our older students participate in Accelerated Reader. With this program, students set goals for points and are rewarded each nine weeks for their reading accomplishments.

Our library opens before school at 7:15 to allow our students an opportunity to return or check out books before the school day begins.  They are also welcome to take an AR test during this time. Students may come during the day as well. The library closes at 2:00.

Each month we have a Family Reading Night.  Students and parents are encouraged to come to the Media Center to read together. Students are then allowed to take AR tests on the books they read during the evening.

You may use the links below to receive notifications when your child takes an AR Test and to check on any book you have at home to determine if there is an AR Test for it.

I hope to see you at one of our Reading Nights!

AR Bookfinder allows you to search for any book and determine if there is an AR Test available for it.  Try it with the books you have at home! You may be amazed at what you already have in your collection.
